Enterprise Corp, a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, was running their critical business applications on aging on-premise infrastructure. They needed to modernize their IT infrastructure to improve scalability, reduce costs, and enhance disaster recovery capabilities.

The Challenge

The legacy infrastructure presented significant challenges:

50+ physical servers with varying ages and configurations
High maintenance costs and frequent hardware failures
Limited disaster recovery capabilities with 48-hour RTO
Difficulty scaling during peak business periods
Security vulnerabilities in outdated systems
Zero-downtime requirement during migration

Our Solution

We executed a comprehensive cloud migration strategy using AWS services:

1. Assessment & Planning

We conducted thorough analysis of existing infrastructure, applications, and dependencies. Created a detailed migration roadmap with risk mitigation strategies.

2. Infrastructure as Code

Using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, we defined the entire infrastructure as code, ensuring reproducibility and version control for all cloud resources.

3. Containerization

Legacy applications were containerized using Docker and deployed on Amazon EKS (Kubernetes), improving resource utilization and deployment flexibility.

4. Database Migration

We migrated 20+ databases to Amazon RDS and DynamoDB using AWS Database Migration Service with minimal downtime using blue-green deployment strategy.

5. CI/CD Pipeline

Implemented automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and AWS CodePipeline for continuous integration and deployment across all environments.

6. Monitoring & Security

Deployed comprehensive monitoring with CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana. Implemented AWS WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty for enhanced security.
